Bastien Argeneau has always been the responsible one. He helped with the family business, the multi-billion dollar Argeneau Enterprises, for centuries and took over when his father died. Now, he’s about to face the hardest two weeks of his life and considering that Bastien was born in 1591, “hardest” is an understatement.
Musicals, Weddings, and Disasters
It all started when Kate, Bastien’s soon to be sister-in-law, informs him that her cousin and best friend, Terri is coming two weeks before the wedding. Terri can’t afford a hotel and Kate convinces Bastien to put her up in his penthouse. But when Bastien and his brother, Kate’s fiancé, Lucern arrive at the penthouse with Terri they discover their cousin Vincent there.
Vincent has just scored the lead role in Dracula: The Musical and is crashing at the penthouse which, as it belongs to Bastien’s mother, is a decision Bastien can’t argue with. Then Kate and Lucern are forced to go out of town, leaving Bastien to deal with a blight that kills all the wedding roses, the loss of the wedding caterer, and more.
Lucky for him, Terri is there to help him sort things out.
A Hungry Vampire and a Heartbroken Vampire
But Bastien’s problems don’t end there. His cousin Vincent can’t drink bagged blood like the rest of the family and Bastien is constantly worried that Vinny will decide to feed off of Terri. When he takes a moment to analyze his concern, he realizes that he’s falling for the girl, which can only mean one thing: she’s his life mate.
But Bastien has been hurt before. The last time he fell in love with a human and told her that he was a vampire she rejected him. He was forced to erase her memories of their time together, watch her marry a mortal, and then grow old and die. Can he risk opening his heart to another woman?
A Handsome Vampire and a Dead Husband
Terri finds herself quickly falling for Kate’s soon to be cousin-in-law, Bastien. But Terri married young and her husband died a slow, painful death just a couple of years later. She can’t quite bring herself to fall in love again, but Bastien is making it hard. But then she starts to suspect that Bastien may be terminally ill himself. There’s an IV stand in his closet, bags of blood in his fridge, and she overheard Kate wondering when Bastien would tell her the truth. She can’t let herself be hurt again.
What Terri doesn’t know is that the IV belongs to his sister Lissianna, the blood is for him to drink, and the truth is that the Argeneau’s and her beloved cousin Kate are vampires!
