The previous four novels feature Lissianna Argeneau and her brothers, Lucern, Etienne, and Bastien and the story of how each ones finds their life mate. But author Lynsay Sands made sure that the Argeneau family tree is a big one. A Bite to Remember features Vincent Argeneau, Lissianna’s cousin. The reader meets Vincent in Tall, Dark & Hungry while he’s in New York starring in a musical version of Dracula. However, in the end of the book readers learn that the show never opened.
A Bite to Remember
Vincent was born in 1590 and was inspired to become an actor when he met Shakespeare. In modern times he acts, directs, and owns a rather successful theatre company. But a lot of things have started happening; costumes have gone missing, a set burned down, and people have quit right before opening night. But when the cast of Dracula starts dropping out from “contagious anemia” Vincent starts to suspect that someone is trying to sabotage him. And this saboteur seems to know that he’s a vampire!
Vincent Hires a Private Investigator
Bastien, Vincent’s cousin, recommends PI Jackie Morrisey to track down the person behind Vincent’s bad luck. Vincent hires her but when she and her assistant, Tiny, show up at his door Vincent realizes that there’s something Bastien forgot to mention: Jackie and Tiny are humans! But they know all about vampires and Jackie’s deceased father did a lot of work for the Argeneau’s in the past. Now Vincent has to feed and play host to the high-strung Jackie while she pokes her nose into every aspect of his life.
An Encounter with a Bad Vampire
Not only does Jackie know all about vampires; she hates them! A run-in with a vampire who controlled and manipulated her as a young woman has left her wary. She doesn’t trust vampires and refuses to let herself get close to one so that she can’t be hurt again. Unfortunately, she finds herself getting more than close to Vincent. She’s starting to fall for him!
True Love and Life Mates
Vincent has just watched four of his cousins find their life mates, the one person they are meant to spend eternity with. So when he starts eating food for the first time in centuries and can’t get Jackie out of his head, he knows that he’s found his own life mate. He just doesn’t know what to do about it, because she clearly isn’t ready for that type of commitment.
But then the person trying to ruin his business goes too far and stabs Stephano Notte, one of Vincent’s managers. Stephano is human, but the rest of his family are vampires. The only way that Vincent can save his life is to turn him. It is only after he gives his blood to Stephano that he realizes what he’s done. A vampire is only allowed to change one human. Ever. Vincent may have saved Stephano’s life, but he’s given up his only chance to change Jackie.
Even if Jackie realizes that she’s Vincent’s life mate and that she wants to spend the rest of forever with him, she can’t. Vincent will never be able to turn her into a vampire and will have to watch her grow old and die. Unless another vampire out there somewhere will turn her.
A Wonderful Vampire Romance Novel
Yet again author Lynsay Sands delivers a fantastic read with characters the reader can really fall in love with. The book is packed with romance, all of it tasteful and compelling. Not only that, readers will be blown away when the person trying to destroy Vincent is revealed. It isn’t only the desire to find out Jackie’s fate that keeps a person reading, but the entire plot is too compelling to leave unfinished!
